Diagnosis process

The first step of medical treatment is the diagnosis. It is of prime importance in the treatment process of any disease as it becomes the foundation upon which rest of the building is constructed. Special emphasis is laid upon a proper, thorough and correct diagnosis process by the doctors.
Diagnosis is the first logical step after certain symptoms are identified in the human body. Set of symptoms have been identified with each known and studied disease and hence, presence of an anomaly in the human body can be identified as the warning sign of a disease.
Due care must be taken while performing the diagnosis of any disease because as long as this step is not successful, there is no way that one can expect the success of the later procedures. A wrong diagnosis can never lead to a successful treatment; on the other hand a correct diagnosis significantly increases the likelihood of cure as it will become the foundation for a correct follow-up treatment.
Diagnosis is important because it becomes the groundwork for the medical treatment. This is the first formal step followed by any doctor when you reach the hospital. Without proper diagnosis, no doctor can move forward with the treatment or cure of the disease.
As opposed to the general view that diagnosis can only be carried out through complex laboratory tests, some of the identification process steps may be really simple and straight forward. At times, the warning signs being exhibited by the patient body are so obvious that the physician can decide to continue the process without the need for formal documented diagnosis process.
At times, the condition of a patient’s disease has attained such a critical stage that the doctor cannot afford to waste time in detailed diagnosis steps. Hence if the case be critical, the physician can decide to bypass the diagnosis process and carry on with the treatment process.
Formal diagnosis procedures followed by the doctors include number of medical tests and thorough physical examination. Most of the times, the diagnosis procedure is not straight forward and it requires multitude of tests by a physician in order to reach a definite conclusion regarding the disease from which a person is suffering.

A number of tests conducted in the diagnosis process may seem like hit and trial but it is more of formal medical procedure that has to be followed. The doctors look into the symptoms of a disease in order to suggest the recommended diagnosis. If a diagnosis attempt fails, the doctor once again looks into related symptoms in order to settle on the possible reasons and causes of the observed symptoms.
Diagnosis procedure becomes relatively simple and easy if the disease is at the initial stages. On the other hand, if the disease has been present in the body of the patient for quite long, the detection of disease through a simple process is not possible. The reason is that prolonged presence of disease in the body has likely resulted in obscure situations.
